An elderly resident of Canada was accused of downloading shooter Metro 2033, which she never even heard.
It is no secret that copyright holders are fighting with pirates and illegal downloads, a variety of methods. But this story got under the hand not the worst violators and innocent lady.
86-year-old resident of Canada Macmillan Christine (Christine McMillan) received a warning letter, saying that she illegally downloaded Metro 2033 and now have to pay. Otherwise it can issue a fine of $ 5,000. And the woman did not say how many it is required money, not to get a penalty.

The author of the letter is a private company Canadian Intellectual Property Rights Enforcement (CANIPRE). It operates within canadian law, under which Internet service providers must notify customers who have encroached on copyrights.
However, the method of capture is not perfect: violators are looking at IP addresses. CANIPRE prepares letters and sends them to the people who are associated with the offending IP addresses. Here, apparently, the answer is: greedy fan of post-Apocalypse Metro 2033 downloaded under the same IP, that of Macmillan.
Apparently, such letters to requirements are not official charges of wrongdoing. This is just a weird canadian way to convey to consumers the idea that piracy is bad.
