«Чудеса природы», созданные людьми. ФотоIn the world there are a lot of very unusual places and fascinating creations of nature.

But sometimes, when “improving” mother nature takes people, it leads to very unexpected results and there are very strange, incredible miracles of nature. See for yourself.

1. Drzava or “Gates of hell” is a gas crater in Turkmenistan, which never ceases to burn for 40 years. This “great” creation — the handiwork of Soviet engineers, who in the 70-ies of the last century looking for oil. (Photo: Tormod Sandtorv/Flickr.com).
During the drilling part of the ground, under which was a large gas field, failed. Fearing toxic fumes, Soviet engineers have not invented anything better than to singe the gas, in order to get rid of it. So it burns four decades, never ceasing to terrify and to remind you how destructive people are.

2. Fly Geyser or fly geyser. In fact it is a permanent thermal spring, which, again, appeared due to the intervention of man. In 1916, in that place were carried out drilling and 60 years of groundwater with the inclusion of mineral wells broke through the surface, creating this amazing creation.(Photo: Ken Lund/Flickr.com).

3. Water Rio Tinto in the Spanish region of Andalusia, the color of blood. From the water a pH equal to 2, making it virtually impossible dwelling in her, most of the organisms existing on the Earth. In fact, this river is poisonous. But why, you ask? The fact is that for centuries in this region mined copper, silver, gold and other minerals, which were polluted river. The red color of its waters gives to the copper which it contains in large quantities. (Photo: RioTinto2006/WikimediaCommons).

4. The blue lagoon in Iceland is a large pool filled with salted thermal water. Warm lagoon appeared due to human activity, namely, located next to a geothermal power plant Svartsengi, which needed somewhere to store excess water pumped out. Blue lagoon is near the international airport of Iceland is one of the largest tourist attractions on the island. It is believed that its highly mineralized water has beneficial effects on the skin.(Photo: Michelle Lee/Flickr.com).

5. Emerald lake in Szczecin (in Poland) got its name because of the color. The emerald hue of the water gives a high content of calcium carbonate resulting from decomposition of calcite. The lake is located directly on the site of an ancient mine of chalk and marl. During mining operations, July 16, 1925, the miners reached the layer of sand, which began to ooze water. The mine was partially flooded and on the bottom of the lake is still possible to find remnants of mining equipment. Fortunately, all the workers during the flooding managed to escape. 6. This huge yellow mountain — not the beginning of the construction of the pyramids and the dump, resulting from the extraction of oil Sands. A byproduct of this process is sulphur, with which mining companies don’t really know what to do. Employees of Syncrude came up with a brilliant idea: to make sulfur an unusual but very attractive pyramid. (Photo: Gord McKenna/Flickr.com).

7. Desert in the heart of Europe? Desert Bledowska (Błędowska) is a huge area of volatile Sands, an area of 33 square kilometers (and in the worst times of 150 square kilometers), which lies on the border of the Silesian upland and Paternal plateau in Poland. It was formed as a result of human activities, including due to deforestation and mining and metallurgy. The groundwater level there has fallen so low that the plants stopped growing. 8. These unusual, colorful lake in the middle of the mountains in Utah is the so-called evaporative tanks. They are used for the gradual evaporation of water in the production process of potash (potassium carbonate), which is used today mainly in the manufacture of fertilizers.
