VTSIOM: the majority of Russians chose to major shopping savings

The majority of Russians are supporters of saving money and consider the moment unfavourable for making large purchases and registration of the credits, according to the results of the poll.

The majority of Russians (67%) said that the present moment is rather bad for making major purchases, about a fifth of the population (19%) considered the time favorable for acquisitions, according to the website VTSIOM.

The consumer confidence index compared to February in March changed slightly (increased from 29 to 31 points), in January this year it stood at 33 points.

“A year ago the index value was at the same level (28), whereas in previous years the situation was estimated more optimistically (40 to 52)”, – stated in the materials research.

At the same time, the index credit trust, descended in January to its lowest level in 18 points, in March remained at the same point, which follows from the results of Poros. The vast majority of Russians (86%) believe that taking loans at the moment is impractical, and only 5% of respondents believe the time is appropriate, according to a survey.

“For comparison, in March 2015 it (the index credit trust) was equal to 20 points. According to data for similar periods of previous years in credit, the Russians were more optimistic,” – noted social scientists.

The level of trust of Russians to banks rose slightly, but overall remained at the level of recent months and in March was 35% – that’s how much the respondents believe that free money is now better to put in the Bank.

In February the share of adherents of savings in the Bank amounted to 34%, in January – 33%. But 40% of respondents in March was advised to withdraw the accumulation from banks (in February of this point of view was held by 43% of respondents in January to 41%).

According to the March opinion poll a majority of Russians (63%) remain the main supporters of reducing costs, and believe that you need to set aside money for the future. In February a similar point of view adhered to 65% in January to 61%. About a quarter of respondents (26%) now offer faster to spend the salary or pension on necessary purchases, and savings to invest in something valuable (in February of this proceeding were supported by 25% of respondents, in January – 28%).

All-Russian poll was conducted March 26-27, 2016, in 130 settlements of 46 Russian regions among 1.6 thousand people. The statistical error does not exceed 3.5%.
