U.S. authorities plan to begin large-scale program of modernization of nuclear arsenals. During the Senate hearing, the representatives of the state Department, the Pentagon and the chiefs of staff of the armed forces of the United States discussed the creation of a new cruise missile air-launched with a nuclear warhead, reports “ZN.UA”.
The news portal writes that according to Deputy Secretary of state for arms control and international security rose Gottemoeller, the development of cruise missiles “will not lead to a violation of the U.S. obligations in accordance with the start Treaty with Russia” and will preserve strategic stability in the world. Gottemoeller also mentions that “Russia has developed a cruise missile next-generation air-to-ground KH-102 with a nuclear warhead, and uses a variant with a conventional warhead KH-101 in Syria.”
