US Department of energy dramatically increased the forecast for oil prices

Минэнерго США резко повысило прогноз по ценам на нефть

The U.S. Department of energy dramatically increased the forecast of oil prices for this year and next year, according to a press release of the Ministry.

In 2016, Brent will average cost $ 41 per barrel, and in 2017-m — 51 a dollar. The increase compared to the previous version of the forecast amounted to five and ten dollars respectively.

The Ministry expects growth of oil supplies to the world market will continue to increase. In 2016 oil produced in the world will be one and a half million barrels per day more. Exactly the same growth was observed in 2015.

Now the price of a barrel of Brent crude hovers around the level of 45 dollars per barrel. Relatively high in the context of the previous few months prices are kept despite the failure of producers of hydrocarbons in Doha and promises of Saudi Arabia and Nigeria to increase production.

April 17 in the Qatari capital hosted a meeting of the countries-manufacturers of oil. It was expected that the parties will sign an agreement to freeze production to prevent further fall of prices for hydrocarbons. But the deal never took place — Saudi Arabia declined to sign any documents without the participation of Iran, the representatives of the Islamic Republic in Doha arrived.

Oil prices over the past two years has fallen almost three times. In early 2016, they reached historic lows, dropping to $ 25 per barrel, but in March began to gradually grow
