Ukraine will receive a visa-free regime with the EU

All the conditions and obligations for obtaining a visa-free regime with Ukraine completed, according to the EU.

The European Union will introduce a visa-free regime with Ukraine. This was stated by Ambassador of Ukraine to the EU Nikolay Tochitsky in an interview with UNIAN.

“. Because we have executed all obligations. And we hope that the European Commission will submit for consideration of the Council and the European Parliament’s positive decision,” he said.

Tochitsky sure of a visa-free regime will benefit not only Ukrainians. “This will benefit not only Ukrainians, but also Europeans. This is an opportunity for any exchange of human, cultural, scientific, intellectual, or religious,” said the Ambassador to the EU.

In turn, as reported by RBK-Ukraine, EU Ambassador to Ukraine Ian Tombinsky said that the European Commission will change the rules on granting visa-free regime for Ukraine.

“All the conditions and commitments made by Ukraine. We saw that the Agency for anti corruption work and now the European Commission has committed itself to submit to the European Parliament a proposal to amend regulations for granting visa-free regime for Ukraine,” said Tombinski.

He also added that Ukraine needs to listen to the results of the referendum in the Netherlands on the ratification of the Association agreement.

“27 countries have already ratified the agreement. It remains to ratify the Netherlands. Everything must be done to give a positive signal from Ukraine. The result of this referendum will give the answer to the Dutch Parliament,” he added.

Note, the President Petro Poroshenko counts on the abolition of visas in the EU for ukrainewide during the Dutch presidency in the Council of the European Union (up to July – ed.).
