The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and the President of Indonesia Joko Widodo agreed to start consultations on free trade zone between the countries. About it reports a press-service of the Ukrainian President.
The President stressed that Indonesia is an important trading partner of Ukraine in South-East Asia. Poroshenko noted the significant growth of trade turnover between the two countries, adding that the majority of goods (about 80%) – products of agriculture.
Separately, Poroshenko drew attention to the opportunities offered by the Agreement between Ukraine and the EU on free trade zone. “Ukraine should become a platform for access to the European market for Indonesia. And at the same time, we believe Indonesia platform in a large Asian market”, – he said.
Given the security situation in the world, the President called promising area of cooperation of the military-defense sector.
