Post-apocalyptic multiplayer managed to shift from the pedestal of the previous record holder, Ubisoft — Watch Dogs.
The debut of Tom Clancy’s The Division has just taken place, and the shooter from Massive Entertainment has already broken records for the number of copies sold both digitally and on physical media. At least, so says the publisher.
Ubisoft, unfortunately, did not provide specific figures, but mentioned in an official statement that the number of users immersed in The world of The Division for the first day since the release, at least exceeded the mark of one million.
In any case, whatever the performance, Ubisoft says that for the first twenty-four hours The Division was sold in the volumes that exceed the sale of “any of the games in the company’s history”. So, post-apocalyptic multiplayer managed to shift from the pedestal of the previous record holder, Ubisoft — Watch Dogs — more than four million copies of which were sold in its first week.
The publisher also adds that it is still the leader in launching new brands. Three of the four most successful in the history of the industry releases new franchises owned by Ubisoft (The Division, Watch Dogs and Assassin’s Creed). Fourth in this list (but first in popularity) — Destiny from Activision.
And even Ubisoft said that on account of The Division the greatest number of downloads of full game on all three platforms (PlayStation 4, PC and Xbox One) committed in one day. But if you compare it with the entire catalog of the publisher.
