Zapovednik staff usually do not intervene when animals die naturally within their habitat. But this day they just couldn’t stand by and watch the dying mother elephant and her cub.
African elephant dragged into a deep liquid mud lake in Zambia. When the baby’s mother saw that she fell and trying to get out, then tried to save her, but she failed and stuck. The deeper it is delayed, the nearer was death.
But, thanks God, Park Rangers and naturalists saw the two of them and began to act. For two hours they struggled in the heat, until the dirt started to dry out.
Soon the rescuers all worked out, and they pulled the elephant to a safe place. But the girl immediately ran back into the mud to stay with the mother.
It’s incredible how she risked his life just to be near. After two more attempts of the ongoing struggle and tons of efforts, our heroes were finally able to pull the mother out of the mud. Exhausted, but grateful, she ran to his herd and the calf.

Zapovednik staff have gathered to spend this incredible rescue operation. They managed to bring the rope under the elephant, but to get him was unbelievable.
At first the workers tried to save the elephant and they all turned out. But instead of run away from the mud, the little girl ran back to her mother. And again stuck.
The little girl was crying and desperately calling for help. It seemed that all was lost, and her mother will soon die.
Once again the elephant almost got out, but it turned out that he wants to return to her mother for the second time.
The rescue team struggled trying not to let the elephant get bogged down in the mud.
They tried to save a baby elephant for the third time. This was the last attempt.
And finally, the baby in a safe place!
Her herd persistently called her and luckily she ran to him. But the elephant was still in a desperate situation.
At this point, the bull is already too exhausted. She is ready to surrender, but the employees of the reserve are going to return the mother to the child.
They knew they were not physically able to pull the elephant, so they needed something stronger – tractor.
Gradually they were able to pull her out of mud graves. But the mother executed piece of work.
Until it was pulled out from the mud, she called his elephant.
Finally, the elephant was able to escape to a safe place. She ran to his herd and troubled child.
Finally, she was safe. And all thanks to the heroes who did what they could. Just an amazing story!
