A real decoration of the feature films competition will be one of the most talked about Russian projects “Dislike” Paul Ruminov. The trailer of the movie has already earned a large number of supporters and enemies vilify him on the forums and ascends to heaven in the blogs. Creativity in Rumenova uneven, but recent years have brought him the victory at “Kinotavr” (“I’ll be there”) and commercial success (“Status: free”), the Director is in fine form, experiments with genres, feels the reality. At MIFF, he presented a radical pornoculinary “love Machine”, where he himself played a major role. In short, there is every reason to expect from the “Dislike” a lot.

The second intrigue of the festival – a new work by Roman Karimov “Black water”. Recall that Vyborg was opened once the young Director Karimov to the public: his painting “Inadequate people”, made with a minimal budget and filled with witty dialogue, won the admiration of the public and, not least, critics immediately raised Karimov on the shield. Since then, Karimov with varying degrees of success continues to make popular films, and attention to his work is undiminished, Karimov even has its own army of fans. The appearance of his movie in the competition Vyborg was the first time since then, as here occurred “Inadequate people”, and it gives the grounds to count on high-quality and interesting movie.

Among other interesting films of the festival is to celebrate new work by Garry Bardin “Listening to Beethoven” – animated film, which classic created entirely with funds of the audience, collected via crowdfunding. The budget was 6 million rubles. The film premiered at the Cannes international film festival in the prestigious program “Director’s fortnight”. The documentary program stands out for the painting “the beginning”, whose main characters include Chulpan Khamatova and Alexander Gradsky – they go on a nostalgic journey through your childhood memories, and a ten year old boy genuinely trying to understand them – and he’s growing up, reflecting on their experience. Another ornament of the competition – the film “Crash” outstanding Director Alina Rudnitskaya. He tells about the accident at the Sayano-Shushenskaya HPP on 17 August 2009, but of course not in the style of a TV report… but through conversations with cleaners who worked that day at HPP. From the programme “Artdocfest” in Vyborg “migrated” film Irina Vasilyeva, “my Brother Cain”, which continues the cycle of the outcast prisoners, in which Holy and infernal long been entwined in prospectively lump.
