Kyiv PJSC “Plant “Mayak”, part of the state concern “Ukroboronprom”, is preparing the launch of serial production of new mortars 60-mm caliber “Kamerton”, developed in accordance with the technical standards of NATO, reports”Interfax-Ukraine”.
As told during the presentation of the prototype of the new weapons on Thursday, the Director of the enterprise Alexander Peregudov, the start of serial production of the new “Tuning fork” is scheduled for August completed the testing of weapons by the customer. “This year we will begin deliveries of serial products in the army,” he said.
According to the developer, created by the order of the Ministry of defense in 60 mm “tuning Fork” has two versions — infantry and airborne. The range of enemy targets, infantry options — 3.7 km airborne to 1 km, the weapon’s Rate of fire 12 rounds per minute. The infantry mortar weight 19 kg, landing — 8 kg.
Peregoudov noted that the new “tuning Fork” in line with the objectives of import substitution: the new artillery weapons created using only domestic materials and components.
