The Turkish foreign Minister saw positive developments in relations between Moscow and Ankara

The Minister of foreign Affairs of Turkey Mevlut Cavusoglu said that he sees positive developments on the part of Russia against Turkey, reports TASS with reference to the channel “A Haber”.

According to him, initially, after the crisis of the downed su-24, the Russian side has acted very emotionally, but now she began to behave more calmly.

“It’s a sign of improvement. The situation with the downed plane was not created to infringe on our relationship. And we are not happy that he was shot down. We expressed our regret and condolences at the highest level”, — said the Turkish Minister.

Cavusoglu also noted that at the moment, talking about possible visit to Turkey with the visit of the foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov. “But one day, when relations between our countries will be restored, we will be able to meet face to face,” he said.

As argued by the Minister that “Turkey has made moves to normalize relations with Russia, and when Russia is ready, then the relationship will be restored.”

Relations between Russia and Turkey escalated dramatically in the fall of 2015 after 24 November, the Turkish air force shot down a Russian front-line bomber su-24, involved in anti-terrorist operations in Syria. Russia imposed on Turkey the number of restrictions, in particular, banning the import of certain food products, limiting Charter flights and canceling a visa-free regime.
