This 4-year-old boy from Bangladesh is similar to the 80-year-old man due to a rare disease.
Looking at Bayezid Hossein (Bayezid Hossain) from Bangladesh, you’ll see brushset face, the sunken eyes and loose skin, he suffers from joint pain, he has difficulty with urination and weak bad teeth.
People from the community where he lives, try to stay away from him, and the children are afraid to play with him, despite the fact that he has intelligence above average.
Bayezid suffers from progeria – a disease in which the body ages eight times faster than normal. This disorder was taken as a basis in the book of Francis Scott Fitzgerald and the movie “the curious case of Benjamin Button”, in which the protagonist is born old and getting younger every day.
People with progeria usually die of a heart attack or stroke at the average age of 13 years.
Bayezid also suffers from the syndrome of flaccid skin or cholesteremia – a rare disorder of connective tissue in which the skin hangs in folds.
Thripti Khatun (Khatun Tripti), 18-year-old mother of the boy said that he surprised at how smart her son, but it greatly upset his unusual appearance.
According to her, Bayezid learned to walk only at the age of 3 years, but he had all his teeth by 3 months.
Despite the abnormal physical development, he is well developed mentally, can hold a conversation well informed and has good instincts for his age.
When Bayezid was born in 2012, parents were shocked by his appearance.
“He was like a stranger, and it was heartbreaking,” he told his mother of Tripiti.
The doctors had no idea what to do, and said that never anything similar did not face.
News of the unusual child quickly spread in the village, and although everyone wanted to see the unusual boy, the family has not received support from a local.
People were gossiping behind the pair, as the boy’s parents have each other cousin and sister. Closely related marriages are not uncommon in rural areas in Bangladesh, and the couple got married at the age of 13 years.
As they grow, Bayezid, his personality and body developed much faster than the other kids in the village.
“He’s very stubborn, knows what she wants, and becomes very impatient. But he loves to play, smart and witty.” Bayezid not go to school, but loves to play ball, to draw and take toys to re-collect them.
The parents of the boy went to doctors, shamans, monks, but nothing has changed and the situation got worse every day.
The disease progeria
Progeria is a disease of premature aging in which children begin to age quickly from an early age. It is a genetic disorder that is still not fully understood. Although it is known that the cause is the abnormal protein, scientists can not explain the mechanism of this violation.
Currently in the world there are about 74 known cases of progeria. It occurs in approximately 1 in 4-8 million newborns. Children with progeria at birth look healthy, but around the age of 10-24 months start to show signs of accelerated aging.
Signs of progeria may include:
· impaired growth
· loss of fatty tissue
· baldness
· skin aging
· stiffness in the joints
· dislocation of the hip
· atherosclerosis (heart disease)
· stroke
Almost all patients with progeria die from heart disease, and children with progeria often suffer from high blood pressure, stroke, angina and heart failure.
