The owner of the Indian restaurant in Britain accused of murder with curry

Владельца индийского ресторана в Британии обвинили в убийстве с помощью карри

The owner of an Indian restaurant in North Yorkshire is accused of the death of the customer because of the curry. About it reports The Daily Telegraph.

According to investigators, Mohammed Zaman used the labor of illegal immigrants and replaced quality ingredients for cheaper ones, without notifying the customers about it. Many Indian dishes use ground almonds in institutions Zaman he was replaced by a cheaper mix of other chopped nuts. One of the cases and such substitution resulted in the death of 38-year-old Briton Paul Wilson. Eating in the restaurant bought curry with peanuts, he experienced a strong allergic attack, in which he lost his life.

Less than a month before another Briton, student ruby Scott, who suffers from the same allergies, was the victim of anaphylactic shock in the other restaurant of the same owner. As the newspaper notes, the doctors were able to save him. Scott’s mother called the restaurant where you purchased the dish, but it assured that the nuts it contained.

Zaman knew that nuts are used in cooking, in his restaurants, but no action was taken and the words “contains nuts” with packages not removed. “It is obvious that all the curry, which he ate, on the package of which was written “contains nuts” — had in its composition of peanuts, an allergic reaction to which led to death,” said attorney Richard Wright.

The investigation revealed that Zaman had intentionally ordered from suppliers of almonds and peanuts, as that was almost two times cheaper. The restaurant owner has declared his innocence. It is expected that the trial will last about three weeks.
