Seventeenth national metering rod was held may 30, 2015 It was organized by fsbi “centrokhotcontrol”, research group “Woodcock”, “Association ” Rosohotrybolovsojuz” and the editorial staff of “Russian hunting newspaper” (HORN). Named for brevity “all-Russian”, this count is carried out mainly in the European part of Russia. The results of previous nationwide surveys to make them available to the masses of hunters were regularly published in the “Russian hunting newspaper” and other hunting publications, and in recent years it was used electronic sources of information.
On the system of hunting societies of Rosohotrybolovsouz received about 3,000 cards. In addition, the Vologda and the Karelian kottapatnam their own replicated and distributed a questionnaire, and then collected materials accounting areas. In one of the rooms of the may HORN was printed form of the questionnaire and methodology, and any reader could send a clipping from this publication with the results of the metering rod. Information about the accounting on draught was also posted on the websites of the HORN and fgbu centrokhotkontrol”. Thus, the total number of common for Russia of the questionnaires was consistent with previous years.
Every year the main contribution to the account of the work make the regional companies belonging to the Association Rosokhotrybolovsoyuz. In 2015, were collected 2456 questionnaires from 36 regions of European Russia. Each questionnaire, or the account card corresponds to one geographic location in which one conducts accounting clerk. Among the best for quantity of the collected material were Vologda, Sverdlovsk, Leningrad, Kostroma region and Republic of Mordovia.
Only on 1731 point was registered 12402 contact (meetings) 14283 snipe (12 birds per 10 meetings). It was not thrust on 44 points (2.5 %) in 10 regions. The part of the meetings (13,3%) were twos, threes and fours “of igrokov”. The best thrust was observed on a separate account points in Karelia, Kostroma, Vologda and other areas. Thus, the absolute index of the meetings of the woodcock for the craving was in the lead a point in the vicinity of the settlement Kyappeselga Kondopoga region of Karelia, where there were 58 meetings 63 snipe. This is the highest intensity of traction since 2000 in the framework of national accounting on the pull. In the area of Kologriv Kologrivskogo district, Kostroma region, there were markedly fewer birds, 36 meetings 36 snipe. However, like last year, there were many areas (12) with “weak” thrust. In Russia on average 7.2 contacts registered snipe for traction. This is somewhat higher than last year (6.1 per contact).
The average intensity of the thrust in the period of account of the individual regions was as follows:
The “weak” link (to 5.0 contacts per 2 hours of observations) was in the Belgorod, Voronezh, Kursk, Lipetsk, Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Ryazan, Saratov, Tula, Tambov regions, and the republics of Komi and Chuvashia.
“Average” thrust (from 5.1 to 10.0 contact) was in the Vladimir, Vologda, Ivanovo, Kostroma, Leningrad, Orel, Penza, Sverdlovsk, Tver, Ulyanovsk, Yaroslavl oblasts, and the Perm Krai and the republics of Bashkortostan, Karelia, Mordovia, Tatarstan, Udmurtia.
“Good” traction (from 10.1 to 15.0 contacts) was in the Bryansk, Kirov and Pskov regions.
Similar data were obtained from administrative (municipal) areas. The best average thrust at areas corresponding to “excellent” – drawn (more than 15.1 contacts), noted in the Kondopoga region of Karelia – 20.5 meetings for 2 hours counts, as well as in the Nyuksenitsa district, Vologda region – 17.6 meetings, in Krutoy district Kirov region – 16.1 meetings and Achitskogo district of Sverdlovsk region – 16,0 meetings. In other regions of the European part of Russia and Urals, this average was much lower.
Very important information about the findings of the nests of the woodcock. In 2015, we found 4 nests. Of Tarnogsky district, Vologda region received a message from Y. A. Zaryanskoe about the discovery on may 23. Puninskaya nests of the woodcock. In Lahdenpohja region of Karelia near village of kurkieki A. N. Semyonov found a nest on may 21. In the Luh district of the Ivanovo region at the village of Babino, A. A. Lapkin found a nest on may 20. Of the Lomonosov district of the Leningrad region A. V. Veroinen reported the discovery on may 11 nests of the woodcock at lopukhinka.
Mass regular account on draught across the country involving thousands of observers, volunteers gives an objective picture of the spatial distribution of woodcock in Russia. Using a massive accounting identifies areas most favorable for the reproduction of populations of woodcock. And judging by the all-Russia counts on traction such favorable for woodcock places we still have a lot.
