To make sure that they are on the right track, the researchers investigated the activity of the ank3 gene in the blood samples of patients of psychoneurological clinics. All took 700 blood samples.

The scientists, led by Alexander Niculescu, the study concluded that those who are prone to suicide, is in constant stress or depression, have the ank3 gene with increased activity.

Biologists tend to believe that now to curb the aging gene can be used such well-known drugs as docosahexaenoic acid, piracetam, quercetin, vitamin D and resveratrol, and rapamycin antidiabetic. However, this needs further scientific evidence.
