The Japanese invented a unique robot

Японцы изобрели уникального роботаResearchers from the JSK Lab have developed a robot that sweats.

Sweating is both simple and cheap way of cooling. It is not necessary to create a system of pipelines, radiators, heat exchangers, etc..

Researchers from the JSK Lab has borrowed the concept of how sweaty man to develop his own version of a cooling mechanism for a robot Kengoro. His sweat – conventional water dripping on 108 engines inside the car, cooling, evaporating from the surface.

Frame Kengoro made using the technology of laser sintering. This is the same 3D printing process, which allows metals of different densities to build complex forms. So managed to create channels with less dense aluminum, penetrating the skeleton Kengoro and through which water flows to the engines, and not on the floor.

In the system of “sweating” for robots less efficiency than in specialized complex cooling systems. However, for tasks Kengoro it is enough – such a solution protects the machine from overheating during 11 minutes push-UPS. But one glass of water is enough to make it work for 12 hours.
