The head of the aerospace company Blue Origin, Jeff Bezos (Jeff Bezos) announced the start of earthworks for the construction of a plant for the production of missiles with a total area of approximately 69.7 thousand sq. m. Work on clearing the site for future construction here started in early June.

According to the electronic message to Bezos, the plant will be used to release future orbital rocket company. Currently, Blue Origin is the spacecraft New Shepard, is able to make suborbital space flight, but not orbital.

The plant is being constructed in the waterworks Park area at Kennedy Space center at Cape Canaveral (Florida), where companies can lease the land for scientific research and development. Exploration Park is nearby launch complex 36 (Launch Complex 36, LC 36) leased by Blue Origin. The complex LC 36 was once used by NASA and the U.S. air force for launches of Atlas. In September last year, Bezos announced that Blue Origin will go to LC36 and, ultimately, will use it to launch future rockets.

These missiles will produce a new plant, the construction of which Bezos hopes to complete in December 2017. The object will only be used for the manufacture and testing of missiles and the engines for them will be produced elsewhere.
Currently Blue Origin has been developing engine BE-4, which will be installed in missiles for orbital flights. At first it will be release by Blue Origin facility in Kent (WA), and then, according to Bezos, the company will provide place for larger plant.
The orbital rocket company is known very little. Bezos said that Blue Origin is engaged in its development over the last three years and promised to provide details about the project later this year.
