The company SpaceVR signed a contract with NanoRacks on the launch of the first VR-satellite into orbit.
Overview 1 satellite will be sent into orbit in June 2017 aboard spacecraft company SpaceX under the NASA program for the delivery of cargo to the ISS, according to N+1. After delivery to the station VR-satellite will be launched into low earth orbit with the platform NRCSD out the airlock of the ISS.
The satellite was designed to record video with a resolution of 4K using two panoramic cameras. According to the company, to watch the video, captured by satellite, will be using a variety of VR-glasses, from Google Cardboard to the Oculus Rift.
The company’s specialists will be able to remotely control the satellite after launch and in the future expect to run VR direct broadcast from orbit
