The exact date of the opening of the i360 tower in Brighton in the South of England will call in a few days. It is expected that the attraction will work in the near future, reports British newspaper The Argus with reference to CEO of Brighton i360, Eleanor Harris.
Tower with a height of 162 meters and a diameter of less than four meters is considered the most thinnest in the world. The building is equipped with lifting and lookout platform, rising to 138 metres. Its construction cost to investors of 46.4 million pounds ($61 million).
In may 2016, Harris said that the attraction will be commissioned at the beginning of the summer school holidays 22 June, but the timing of the opening of the tower was postponed. Presumably, the i360 will work until the end of summer 2016.
It is expected that the i360 will attract in Brighton about 700 thousand tourists annually, bringing to the city budget of 25 million pounds (33 millliona dollars).
The construction of i360 tower designed by the architects David marks and Julia Barfield from Marks Barfield Architects office — the team that built the famous Ferris wheel “London eye” (London Eye).
