Built in Brighton in the South of England i360 tower is the thinnest in the world — open to the public on 4 August 2016. The price of a ticket to the observation platform of the structure, rising to 138 metres, will be five pounds (about seven dollars), according to Brighton & Hove Independent.
The launch of the attraction, the construction of which cost investors at 46.4 million pounds ($61 million), will celebrate with fireworks. On the opening day of the facade of the tower will highlight in red, white and blue — the colors of British Airways, who initiated the establishment of the new Brighton attractions.
The i360 tower has a height of 162 meters and a diameter of less than four meters. It was designed by architects David marks and Julia Barfield from Marks Barfield Architects Bureau, who built the famous Ferris wheel “London eye” (London Eye).
It is expected that the i360 will attract in Brighton about 700 thousand tourists annually, bringing to the city budget of 25 million pounds (33 millliona dollars).
Previously, Eleanor Harris, CEO of Brighton i360, which manages the tower, said that the i360 will open before the end of summer 2016.
