The Creator of Meldonium Latvian academician Ivars kalvins said that the drug will be eliminated of the world anti-doping Agency (WADA) list of prohibited after the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. About this informs The Baltic Course.
“WADA has twice made concessions on the issue of Meldonium. The third assignment should be the exception Meldonium from the list of prohibited drugs,” said kalvins, noting that this should occur before the end of the year.
In April of this year, WADA said that less than one microgram Meldonium in the doping trial of the athlete, rented till March 1, 2016, is a valid indicator. The Agency said it will study the timing of drug excretion from the body.
Since the beginning of March to use Meldonium, which from 1 January this year included in the list of banned substances, was convicted of several dozen Russian athletes. Among them are tennis player Maria Sharapova, swimmer Yuliya Efimova, figure skater Ekaterina Bobrova, skater Pavel Kulizhnikov, short-tremist semen Elistratov, boxer Alexander Povetkin, and others. Later many of them dropped the charges.
The games in Rio held from 5 to 21 August.
