SpaceX has confirmed a preliminary cause of the explosion of the Falcon 9 rocket.
Crash of the rocket Elon musk took place in September 2016, due to a failure in the helium supply system.
According to engineers, in the incident to blame one of the helium tanks, located at the second stage in the tank with oxygen. The results of the command SpaceX unveiled in late October.
“After extensive testing in Texas, SpaceX has shown that it can recreate the crash because of the conditions of loading of helium. These conditions mainly depends on the temperature and helium pressure,” noted SpaceX.
Because the explosion occurred during a routine refueling, which means that the engines were not included, and SpaceX is still trying to determine an alternative heat source for the explosion. Among these sources are called and the possibility of sabotage.
Now the SpaceX team has two main tasks: to repeat all the events of the explosion to see exactly how changing conditions, particularly temperature, can cause an explosion; and to redesign the cryogenic system in order to ensure that the explosion will not happen again.
