The capitalization of the largest banks in the world has fallen since the beginning of the year to $465 billion

Twenty largest banks in the world since the beginning of this year lost a quarter of its total market value, total equivalent to $465 billion, the data provided in the survey research company FactSet.

According to The Wall Street Journal (WSJ), the maximum loss of the Italian UniCredit, whose market capitalization has dropped by almost two thirds. The cost of the British Royal Bank of Scotland fell by 56%, and the Swiss Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank, British Barclays fell by almost half, according to RBC.

The best indicators of market capitalization were American, JPMorgan Chase and Industrial & commercial Bank of China, who have lost 10% of its value in dollar terms.

In local currency stock prices of all 20 of the examined banks has declined over the last year. The exception was the British Standard Chartered, whose value in pounds has not changed.

The WSJ indicates that the fall in the value of Bank stocks due to a combination of reasons. This impact on the markets of the state of the Chinese economy, and expectations of changes in rates of the American Central Bank (fed), and the decline in oil prices. British referendum on leaving the EU has only exacerbated this trend.
