Bank The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) has refuted the publication by The Times to review the decision on Bank accounts of the TV channel RT. This is stated in the answer of the credit institution, upon request, with journalists of RIA Novosti.
Earlier, on Tuesday, the British newspaper the Times reported that the RBS group has abandoned its plans to close the Bank account RT in the UK. According to media reports, this decision was taken after threats of Moscow to freeze the funding of the BBC and file a complaint against Britain to the international Supervisory authorities for breach of obligations in the field of freedom of speech.
However, RBS did not confirm such reports, saying that any change in the Bank’s decision in respect of RT did not happen. “We have no new messages after yesterday’s statements,” told reporters at the Bank.
Recall that the RBS group on Monday night said that studying the situation with the closure of the Russian television and intends to discuss the issue with the client. Earlier in the day the Bank NatWest told the TV station that all of his accounts in the UK closed and this decision is not subject to revision.
