Scientists from the University of Wisconsin (USA) identified that women who drink two or three cups of the beverage daily, a 30% lower risk of developing dementia than those who do not consume coffee.

Physicians within 10 years tracked medical records of 6.5 per thousand women with an average age of 65 years. Recorded statistics, how much caffeine consumed each day volunteers also monitor other indicators – age, education level, body mass index, sleep quality and other. Researchers found that on average, women ate 261 mg of caffeine per day (approximately two to three cups of coffee a volume of 230 ml, or five or six cups of tea).

From 388 women for 10 years has developed dementia or other cognitive dysfunctions. However, those who drank coffee rarely or never drank the beverage, dementia developed in 36% more often. The authors of the study considered it necessary to note that the detection of the relationship “coffee and risk of dementia in women” does not mean that caffeine prevents the occurrence of the disease.

Dementia – priobretenie disease of the brain that leads to memory impairment (lalomia). In addition, patients change active in everyday life: they cannot perform usual self-service operations, losing acquired over the years skills: dressing, personal hygiene. A person suffering from dementia, no longer navigate in space, not able to make the right judgment, becomes desocializing. Eventually, the disease leads to complete dependence of the patient from others.
