Illya Marchenko failed to become a quarterfinalist clay tournament in Istanbul.
Marchenko in the confrontation with the first racket of Bosnia Damir jumhuri was considered the undisputed underdog. Ukrainians managed to confound the skeptics, but to hold on for the victory Marchenko could not.
In the first set and Marchenko three times gave the game on his serve and managed only once to check in at the reception. In the second game the Ukrainian became safer to play from the submission and was able in the 11th game to hold on for his first break-point. Cumhur no chance lost the next game, but at the same time and gave the second set.
Deciding Bosniak spent almost exemplary – Marchenko quickly lost three games in a row and had only one chance at a comeback, but to implement break-point Ilya has failed.

For an exit in 1/8 final of a clay tournament in Istanbul Ilya Marchenko earned 20 rating points and improved his financial position by almost nine thousand dollars in prize money.
