On 25 February, the accident occurred at the Severnaya mine in Vorkuta, Komi Republic. According to preliminary data, the explosion occurred due to sudden release of methane at the depth of 780 meters. At that moment in mine there were 110 people, 80 of them were evacuated, four were found dead, another 26 were blocked under the ground.
On February 28, media reported that the search is over, 26 miners will leave under the earth. For localization of the accident a decision was made to isolate the dangerous area with the help of nitrogen.
In Chile got with the 700-meter depth, 33 miners who have spent in the mine for 2 months. In Vorkuta if it’s only been 3 days! People can be alive, and even in the event of their death, it would be more ethical on the part of the company “Vorkutaugol” to hand the body over to relatives and friends, instead of flooding the mine. A commercial company may not dispose of a life, at its discretion, human duty of saving lives cannot be sacrificed to commercial benefits cessation of rescue operations.
Never before in our country, such decisions were not taken by commercial organizations, only the state in respect of war, gave the oath of office, could dispose of their lives in emergency situations, JSC has neither legal nor moral rights on such decisions in respect of their employees and their families, ordinary citizens of our country.

We require to step in and continue the rescue operation and get people, living or dead.

The explosion was predictable, the miners before the tragedy was reported to the management on excess of level of methane. In the mine it was impossible to work, this is a gross violation of safety.We demand an objective investigation and punish the perpetrators.
