Siluanov does not expect the rise in oil prices after negotiations in Doha

Силуанов не рассчитывает на рост нефтяных цен после переговоров в Дохе

The results of the upcoming Sunday talks producing countries in Doha will not lead to a surge in oil prices, the head of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation Anton Siluanov.

“I would like to say that we do not expect any changes in price, despite the negotiations that are currently taking place,” said the Minister in an interview with CNBC.

Siluanov believes that in the face of slowing global growth and the accumulation of reserves of oil producers are no serious grounds to speak about the growth of oil prices.

“We see that we have to work in conditions when oil prices fluctuate around $40 per barrel”, — said the head of the Ministry of Finance, adding that he considers such a price level acceptable for the Russian economy, in which expensive oil is poorly developed non-primary sectors.

Earlier today, the first Deputy Chairman of the Bank of Russia Ksenia Yudaeva said that the basic scenario of economic development, prepared by Bank of Russia for 2016 with oil price at $30 per barrel, although it seems conservative compared to other forecasts, but it remains the most reasonable for the implementation of monetary policy in conditions of market volatility.

The meeting of OPEC members and countries outside the organization, to discuss the agreement to freeze production in 2016 at the average level of January will be held on April 17 in the Qatari capital Doha.
