Scientists told how to achieve success in losing weight

Ученые рассказали, как добиться успеха в похуденииOn our planet, on average, overweight have at least 30% of people.

Many people are experiencing difficulties because of excess weight. In an attempt to lose weight they resort to every possible means, including the assistance of a psychologist.

According to leading experts, the success of this psychological correction does not depend on the initial mass of the body, and how the patient body is like, what requirements it imposes on itself and others, and how he has an eating disorder. On our planet, on average, overweight have at least 30% of people, and in 95-98% of cases obesity is due to eating disorder. Experts divide these violations into two groups: external eating behavior – the person wants to eat when he sees food, not when hungry; emotiogenic eating behavior – the person “seizes” the stress of restrictive eating behavior – less haphazard attempts is ending with failure.

In many ways, the eating disorder is caused by personal characteristics of the people. For example, a person may not be satisfied with body-image and suffer from excessive perfectionism. People suffering from perfectionism, show to themselves and others exorbitant demands. For them the value of self-worth tied to their achievements and performance. In the framework of clinical studies, experts invited 90 volunteers who were overweight. With the help of tests they have estimated the parameters of perfection, the degree of dissatisfaction with body image and eating behavior characteristics.

After six months of participation in the program 44 participants successfully reduced weight, slimming an average of 3 pounds per month, but 46 man lost weight. As it turned out, the success of the programme, indeed, was associated with the psychological characteristics of the participants. So patients who did not succeed, much less than successful, liked their body, and the degree of perfectionism and indicators of eating disorders, was more significant. It is noteworthy that the side was single incorrect stereotype of eating behavior – “heavy eater”. The basis of this stereotype is not emotional discomfort, and upbringing and family tradition there are many.
