Scientists recommend to enter computer games in the curriculum

Ученые рекомендуют ввести компьютерные игры в обязательную школьную программуAccording to doctors, it will improve the intellectual capacity of children.

Scientists conducted the new study, whose results speak in favor of introducing video game into the school educational program.

According to the researchers, Teens who spend time in online gaming show higher results than their peers, conducting more time on social networks.

As it turned out, adolescents who spent more time in social networks, showing the results on a 100-point scale, 20 points lower than their peers who had never used social networks. While video gamers coped with the tests on average, 17 points better than the rest. And the result was about the same as for natural Sciences and mathematics, and Humanities.

According to Professor Rosso, games like Minecraft help students to use and hone obtained in the classroom skills and to develop analytical thinking skills. Moreover, according to Rosso, the game helps all children regardless of ability to one or another science.

“In the games they offer to solve the puzzle, use cognitive skills to solve math problems and much more. We should not reject these games. They — the tools used by the children. And curriculum, apparently, should be more flexible to interest the modern generation,” stated Rosso.

“Students now not only play games but also design them. They write code, draw graphics, play sound music. This method requires much more participation from students, especially in the digital sphere. Not all people learn alike, and therefore the youth should not learn so much as we studied. We just don’t know all the nuances, so must continue to ask yourself questions about how you can associate digital technology and education”.

Rosso recommends that you look for opportunities to include video games into the school curriculum. At the same time in Norway in early January of this year in the school schedule have already added games such as Dota 2, Counter-Strike and other games.
