Elastic headband implanted in language – a new remedy for snoring.
Now the invention (Revent Sleep Apnoea System is tested on 50 patients in Europe. It is aimed at the treatment of sleep apnea. Gum is much easier than wearing a mask that creates a continuous positive airway pressure. So, the new system is a long piece of elastic with a loop on each end. The elastic band is stretched and locked into position using the plastic tube between the loops.
Each mesh is implanted in the tissue under the tongue. For a few days, the device is overgrown, appearing, in fact, inside the language. Because the underlying elastic material, the device does not interfere with talking and swallowing. When, after some time, the plastic tube is resorbed, the hinges pull the fabric of a language, giving them a tone. Depending on the size of the language, one person can be implanted up to four devices.
