Scientists have created a scanner that detects explosives at a distance

Ученые создали сканер, обнаруживающий взрывчатку на расстоянииThe device is offered to be installed primarily in airports and railway stations.

After 15 years of development Professor of the Institute of British Loughborough John Tyrer presented his invention, which is able to prevent the attacks.

“Touching the explosives leaves no visible traces on the fingers, despite this, the system automatically notices this,” – says about his invention of Tyrer.

This scanner consists of a special UV laser and cameras that are able to find the slightest traces of explosives, as well as the system that detects explosives. Using the device is possible at a distance to scan cargo, vehicles, and most importantly – airports and railway stations and other crowded places.

“For example, we place it in the door frame. So that it will automatically scan people passing through. So we get the full scan of a person without delay of passenger traffic”, – said the Professor.
