A team of scientists from the Czech Republic, the USA, Japan and Poland has developed a unique kind of quantum money.
Researchers report that the objects themselves are not yet available and currently the new bill is only a prototype.
With the help of these developments, physicists have been able to demonstrate unique capabilities that are available with the use of technology the polarization of single photons. Such a decision may exclude the possibility of uncontrolled copying of money without permission of the owner of the banknote.
As reported by the scientists themselves, they conducted modeling of banknotes using quantum bits. For the first time, the idea of encoding the serial number of the banknote was put forward by physicist Stephen Wiesner in the distant 70-ies. It is known that quantum bits are different from the usual that can handle any numeric values, in addition to the standard zero and one.
