The upcoming NATO summit should not be another signal to confrontation, says Jean-Marc Ayrault.
Russia has expressed a clear willingness to negotiate with NATO. This was stated by the foreign Minister of France Jean-Marc Ayrault, after a meeting in Paris with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov.
Thus in Moscow intend to wait and evaluate the results of the Alliance summit which will be held on 8-9 July in Warsaw.
At the meeting of NATO countries will discuss the strategy of further relations with Russia in light of Moscow’s annexation of the Crimean Peninsula belonging to Ukraine. Warsaw does not have to submit a new signal to confrontation, says Ayrault.
In April 2016 in Brussels for the first time since the crisis in Ukraine held a meeting of the NATO Council-Russia, which, however, was not adopted specific solutions. The parties discussed how the crisis in the relationship to keep the channels of dialogue and reduce the risk of military confrontation.
