Russia is ready to provide Japanese companies with controlling stakes in major projects for oil and gas, said Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich in an interview with Japanese newspaper Nikkei.
“We are ready to offer Japan controlling stakes in large oil and gas projects. This applies to Japanese investors, who have prepared strategic development plans”- quoted Dvorkovich “News”.
According to him, despite sanctions by Japan, “Russia maintains a constructive cooperation with Japanese companies”, which creates a good atmosphere for political dialogue.
Besides, Dvorkovich has not excluded the possibility of participation of Japanese companies in joint economic development of the Kuril Islands. “They are preparing the establishment of the economic zone of new type. To the development of the region may be allowed Japanese and other foreign companies”, – said Deputy Prime Minister.
