Military conflict is possible, writes one of the largest Russian news agencies.
The United States and Russia must prevent military confrontation in Syria, said a military analyst, Professor of political science and sociology, Russian University of Economics named after G. V. Plekhanov, candidate of political Sciences Alexander perendzhiev.
“In my opinion, all the talks of Minister of foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov and U.S. Secretary of state John Kerry pursued the main goal – to prevent the conflict between Russia and the United States in Syria. Otherwise no effective interaction can not be, because our country and America are totally different purpose,” said Perendzhiev.
“Unfortunately, the military conflict of Russia and the US in Syria is possible. The more so because indirectly it has already happened: the Americans shelled and bombed units of the Syrian government troops, where our military advisers; the Russian side was bombed by terrorists, among whom were the Americans,” – said the expert.
He believes that a global military conflict, and direct military confrontation of the armed forces of the Russian Federation and the United States in Syria will be avoided.
“If to speak about prospects of the situation, of course, serious. Still, I hope that direct military confrontation will not. At least two years ago developed a form of communication between Russia and the United States this is the case – the so-called red line, allowing high level to enter the operational conversation and defuse the explosive situation”, – concluded the military expert.
