Russia is not satisfied with the statements of the Turkish President about the Ukrainian Crimea.
The words of the Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan about supporting Ukraine in the issue of ownership of the Crimea could complicate relations with Russia. This was stated in the Federation Council.
Erdogan promised to support Ukraine in the issue of restoration of sovereignty at the meeting with President Petro Poroshenko at the UN General Assembly. He noted that the resumption of dialogue with Russia will not affect the position of non-recognition of Russian Crimea.
“We received another confirmation that our “friendship” with Turkey has certain limits and is rather arbitrary. Of course, the more Protocol words of support for Ukraine, Erdogan is unlikely”, – said the Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on defense Franz Klintsevich.
He noted that Erdogan is aware of the risks as Turkish-Russian relations were to improve.
“But words are not always an empty phrase. The impression that the Turkish President “is trying to perform on the same piano several parties. I have no doubt that it has already been noticed in the Russian foreign Ministry, making the corresponding conclusions”, – stressed in the Russian Senate.
