Nudists at the walls of the Kremlin, 1920-ies
In the first years after the October revolution, all the age-old foundations was considered a relic of the tsarist government, and therefore denied. In the 1920-ies on the streets of Moscow it was possible to see completely naked people from the movement “Down with shame!” In this retro picture captures nudists on the Moscow river near the Kremlin walls. Nudity at the time was promoted as an expression of democracy and equality. By 1930, everything was back to normal, and the Soviet government stopped on the vine loose morals.
The boys in the school learn to swim, 1920-ies
In the early twentieth century in British schools was not swimming, but swimming is still included in the course. To correctly keep yourself in the water, the boys practiced on the backs of his comrades.
Cleaning Venetian canals, 1956
When tourists float on a gondola on the canals of Venice, the musty smell of a little oil romantic impression of the walk. But in 1956, the channels were thoroughly cleaned. This was down water, and from the bottom up all the garbage.

With the advent of the Internet books very quickly faded into the background. This photo illustrates what were the libraries in the nineteenth century. Spectacle with several floors of tomes is really impressive.
