Mats for computer mice – something, on the one hand, very important: any professional gamer will play without his favorite carpet, but the choice of the playing surface, the behavior of the mouse can vary diametrically, on the other hand, the mats most of the reviews awarded to a couple of sentences. However, there are playing surface, which just wants to tell it in detail and share their experiences. Mouse mats, as you know, are different: fabric, rubber, plastic, metal, large and small, with stands and without, but only one with RGB led, and that’s about it and will talk in this article. The first thing that catches the eye – the presence of cable (you didn’t think the backlight will be powered by air). The wire, having a length of 2.3 m is quite thin, easy to bend, has a fabric braid and ends with a gold plated USB connector (why precious coating for such device, it is not entirely clear, apparently, just Razer keeps the brand). At the entrance to the carpet, the wire has a thickening that protects from kinks and closer to the connector – ferrite filter to protect against electromagnetic interference (also not clear why). The cord is a special plastic compartment inside which is located the control Board, the latter is quite small and will not prevent the movement of the mouse.
The Mat is hard, but at the same time quite flexible, so will not break from carrying the backpack. Carpet consists of several components, effectively “fused” together. Working surface size 355×255 mm grey color with small shiny specks. The coating is very pleasant to the touch and has a dimensional texture, invisible to the naked eye. Thanks to her, the mouse feet are in contact only with a part of the surface, thereby reducing the coefficient of friction. The reverse side of the Mat is a rubber surface which, due to the special micro protrusions is held securely from the shift. On the rim is a strip of black plastic beneath it is another, already of a transparent material, and it glows. Thanks to the first plastic layer, the illumination is not glaring, and gently spreads it across the desktop. Highlighted only three of the ribs, farthest from the user, where the cable is connected, it remains dark. In the upper right corner is a logo, which is illuminated with the same color that the outlines of the pad. I wonder what its texture is no different from the rest of the surface, and only if on it to knock with a finger, felt the presence of a small cavity, which, however, does not affect the use of the pad as intended. The quality of materials and workmanship to the occasion: despite its complexity, Firefly looks monolithic, gaps between the layers, and all joints taped.

You can just disable the backlight, but why should I buy this carpet? Each option lends itself to fine tuning, including color, brightness (enough to work during the day), and wave direction. There is even the option to save settings under different profiles. The program is completely Russified.
During testing on the Mat “ride” quite a lot of mice with different sensors. Any disruptions or other problems were noticed. Very pleased with the texture of the surface, moreover, that to it constantly wants to touch, and virtually any mouse flies on the surface, but it does not slip easily and the extra stops, so in games you will find accurate positioning. Mat copes well with sudden sweeping motion, and pixel-by-pixel fine-tuning. The working area is sufficient for all purposes, no restrictions on the mouse to stop working, the carpet does not impose. When moving the rustle is almost inaudible, a gift that Firefly plastic. Contamination is easily removed with a damp cloth, and during a major incident, it is possible to wash in the water.

The quality of the materials used and Assembly is another plus in the Treasury of the Mat. Well, of course, the backlight, not fall in love with which is simply impossible. Firefly will be a great addition to your Chroma-devices. The only thing that can deter from immediate purchase is the high price of “Firefly”. Not everyone is willing to spend on the Mat, even so cool, 5500 rubles.
