During the presentation of state awards in the Kremlin, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that in difficult times there are always people who have a contribution ready to change things for the better.
So the head of Russia noted that even now, in times of disagreement between Russia and the United States on a number of issues, there are people who are using the culture of both countries are keen to establish international relations. Among these people, Vladimir Putin noted American Susan Lerman, which conducts various outreach and educational programs in the United States on the subject of Russian culture and language. The Russian President believes that this will contribute to the rapprochement of the two peoples.
Today, during a ceremony dedicated to the celebration of the day of unity, held in the Kremlin, Susan Lehrman was awarded the Order of Friendship.
Honorary awards were awarded for the Chinese Director of the state Bolshoi theatre Chen ping and Serbian film Director Emir Kusturica.
