Putin, Erdogan blamed instability in Turkey

Presidents Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a telephone conversation touching upon the issue of a failed coup in Turkey.

As the press service of the Kremlin, the Russian President stressed the fundamental role of Moscow on the categorical prohibition in the state unconstitutional actions and violence.

Putin Turkish President expressed condolences on numerous human casualties among civilians and representatives of law enforcement, confronted the conspirators. The Russian leader hoped for a speedy restoration of constitutional order in the Turkish state.

“The President noted that after the lifting of restrictive measures, the number of Russian tourists in Turkey have increased substantially, and expressed hope that the Turkish side in the current difficult conditions will, to the maximum extent to ensure their safety. Erdogan stressed that all the necessary steps in this regard will be taken”, — said in the message.

It is noted that the initiator of the call was the Russian leader. The heads of state confirmed their agreement to hold the SCORM appointment times.

On the night of July 16 in Turkey was an attempt of a military coup. The country imposed martial law and a curfew. Subsequently, the Prime Minister Binali Yildirim said that the security service took control of the situation. Most of the organizers of the coup were detained. During the riots on both sides killed 265 people.

Relations between Russia and Turkey worsened after Turkish fighter aircraft in November shot down a Russian su-24 on the Syrian-Turkish border. After that Moscow has imposed on Ankara’s sanctions, which included a ban on the sale of tours, as well as vegetables and fruits from Turkey.

In June, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan apologized for the downed plane to his Russian counterpart. Two days after that, Putin signed a decree allowing to sell trips to Turkey. It was also announced the imminent resumption of trade.
