The descendants of Polish and Czech entrepreneurs who owned the factories in Volyn previously, paralyze the work of these enterprises, presenting to them their rights.
This was stated in the framework of the “round table” devoted to questions of property restitution in Ukraine and its possible consequences, Volyn ethnographer Igor lewczuk.
“In Volyn region there are two large enterprises: the distillery Schneider, and a former brewery Zemana. These two enterprises belonging to the once-Polish and Czech owners may be subject to claims of their descendants,” said Levchuk.
According to the ethnographer, the claims of the Polish and Lviv owners can greatly affect the desire of Ukrainians to “get into Europe”.
“Already now in the Internet there are replicas in social networks: “I wanted Europe, and now they have taken away all the property,” said Levchuk.
We will remind, earlier it was reported that in Poland created a special organization “Restitution Borderlands”. She helps the poles to prove their ownership of various objects and resources in Ukraine: from land to medieval castles and art galleries. According to the representative of the organization Conrad Renkas, in the coming months the number of appeals will increase to two thousand. After that, the work will be in full swing.
