The allies concerned about the large advantage of Russia in the air.
The Baltic States and Poland began negotiations with producers of military equipment to establish a regional defense system for protection against Russian aircraft.
According to the Minister of defense of Lithuania Juozas Olekas of, at the moment, the allies examine procurement options and hope that the system will work in two or three years. Olekas also said that they are concerned about the large advantage of Russia in the air.
Previously, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Poland have repeatedly expressed concern over the increasing number of Russian troops on its borders.
Note that in the beginning of July, 2016 in Warsaw, the NATO summit, during which, as expected, will be discussed further strengthening of the Alliance on its Eastern borders.
In may 2016, NATO has decided to place four additional battalions in Poland and the Baltic countries, given the tensions in relations with the Kremlin. As reported, their battalions to strengthen the Eastern flank of NATO will allocate US, UK and Germany
