Competitive matches don’t get to open beta and will not appear in the final version of Overwatch.
Developers love to do in today’s multiplayer shooters competitive system with grades, seasons and matches between top players. Such wanted and Blizzard in their Overwatch. However, at the stage of closed beta test somehow did not happen.
Game Director Jeff Kaplan (Jeff Kaplan) has announced on the official forum that competitive matches will not get to open beta and will not appear in the final version of Overwatch. The authors looked at feedback during PTA, scratched their heads and decided that in this form, the format is no good.
The participants of “beta” liked the concept of competitive battles, but many of the elements they questioned. For example, the community felt that the grades depend more on their “grind” and the number of matches played, and not by real skill on the battlefield.
Blizzard has not abandoned the competition, but thoroughly intend to recycle them. The mode will return to Overwatch after the official release of the game.
