The organization of countries-exporters of oil (OPEC) has invited the U.S. to join negotiations on freezing the level of oil production. This was announced by the Secretary General of the organization Abdalla Salem El-Badri, betrays RIA Novosti.
“I’m talking to the EU, with the Russians and the Chinese. I say almost all, except the USA, all I want is dialogue,” he said.
Previously Director of the International energy Agency (IEA) Fatih Birol said that the US will retain its leading position by increasing production of oil. “The growth in US production will slow to 4.1 million dollars a day. But the U.S. will continue to lead in terms of increasing production,” he said.
Birol also resulted in the forecast regarding Russia. According to him, in the next six expected in the Russian Federation is the largest decline in oil production among countries outside of OPEC. “This is due to the depreciation of the ruble and impact of sanctions”, — said the Director of the IEA.
