Oil exports from Iran rose to its highest in four years

Экспорт нефти из Ирана достиг максимума за четыре года

Oil exports from Iran in April was the highest since the beginning of 2012, amounting to 2.3 million barrels per day. This is 15 percent higher than the forecast of the International energy Agency (IEA), according to Reuters.

In may, the country plans to supply 2.1 million barrels (in the same month 2015 rate of exports amounted to 1.3 million barrels).

The increase in supply indicates that Iran has enough tankers for export. The lack of transport capacity was one of the risks to the country’s plans to regain its share of the world oil market, lost after the imposition of U.S. sanctions and the EU in 2012.

Iranian export grows for all areas: delivery to China in April increased to 840 thousand barrels per day. Sales in Europe were close to 500 thousand barrels per day.

On 12 may, the IEA reported that the organization of countries-exporters of oil (OPEC) in April to increase production to 330 thousand barrels per day to 32.76 million barrels. The Agency explained that the production has increased at the expense of Iran and the jump in production in Iraq and the UAE.

On 10 may, the head of Saudi state oil company Saudi Aramco Amin Nasser said that the Kingdom in 2016 will significantly increase production of hydrocarbons. We can talk about the growth of more than a million barrels a day, Reuters adds.
