Agreement about freezing of oil between oil-producing countries is possible without the participation of Iran, said TASS, the Minister of energy Alexander Novak.
“Everything is possible, because it’s open documents. All who wish to join him — join me. Who wouldn’t want to join, nobody forced to make will not happen,” he said.
Minister of energy also confirmed that he held talks with Minister of petroleum and mineral resources Saudi Arabia Ali al-Nuaimi, but the details did not disclose.
Earlier, the President’s press Secretary Dmitry Peskov expressed hope that the agreement about freezing of oil production volumes may be concluded without the participation of Iran.
Russia, Saudi Arabia, Venezuela and Qatar in February have already agreed not to increase production, if the agreement will join other major oil exporters. A meeting of representatives of these countries will take place on 17 April in the Qatari capital Doha.
Earlier, representatives of Riyadh has indicated that it is ready to support the freezing of oil production at the level of 2015, if on such measures agree all the leading oil producers, in particular Iran. Tehran, in turn, noted that is also willing to join the agreement, but only after building up oil production at desanctions level.
