North Korea tested a new engine for Intercontinental ballistic missile

The DPRK conducted at the site Soha ground testing of the engine of a new type of Intercontinental ballistic missiles. According to TASS, this was announced on Saturday, April 9, the official news Agency KCNA.

The engine was made by specialists of the defense industry of the country on the basis of domestic technologies.

The purpose of the test is to assess the thermal stability of the tip warheads, developed and produced in-house, as well as erosion-resistant material coating.

7 February North Korea put into orbit the satellite Kwangmyongsong-4 (“Bright star-4”), designed, as stated in Pyongyang, to monitor the Earth. A month before that, on 6 January, the DPRK officially announced the successful test of a hydrogen bomb.

After that, the UN Security Council approved an unprecedented new package of tough sanctions against North Korea.
