Nissan has brought to the series sports car with a triangular body shape, introducing a new version of the concept car BladeGlider.

From the first version, which appeared in 2013 at the Tokyo motor show, the new product has a more “quiet” design, technical stuffing and a special drift mode.

The manufacturer called the novelty of a fully functional “advanced prototype”. It was developed by Nissan in collaboration with the unit of Formula 1 team Williams company Williams Advanced Engineering, providing power plant.

The novelty is equipped with two electric motors for 130 kilowatts that drive the rear wheels. Feed the engines from the kit 220-kilowatt lithium-ion batteries. Vehicle weight does not exceed 1300 pounds.

“Hundred” Nissan BladeGlider will have less than five seconds. The maximum speed is 190 kilometers per hour.

The power plant has multiple operating modes, including settings specific to the drift variant, which achieves the best controllability. The car has no traditional rear view mirrors. Instead, they use a rear view camera, images from which are displayed on monitors on either side of the steering wheel.
Prospects serial production of such cars is not yet clear.

According to the head of Renault-Nissan Alliance Carlos Ghosn, the BladeGlider is “electric car for those who really love cars.” It shows what can be an electric sports car of the near future.

Originally Nissan planned to launch the car in the triangular series in 2016. But then from these plans, the company refused.
